EveryWoman Gathering 2008
Nurturing the Feminine
November 28 - 30
This is our third year of holding the event and our previous success has enabled us to expand our vision of "Women Embracing Differences - Making a Difference." Our success is mainly attributed to the women who have volunteered their hearts and time to become helpers.
The Vision Statement for the Gathering this year is: Imagine a weekend to connect and deepen the voice of your soul's true journey. A weekend to create space to nurture, love, and trust yourself with the support of fellow sisters. We invite you to join us to tap into the roots of sacred women’s wisdom and to share the divine feminine.
Do you have further enquiries, or would you like to get involved in running the event? Contact the Gathering Goddesses Belinda, Rosalee and Kathy via email at gathering@womenswellbeing.org or phone Belinda on 0402 260 492.

Cecily Slade - YogaThe thing that excites Cecily Slade most about teaching yoga is helping people connect in a realway with their own spirituality. Whilst most people see yoga as a form of exercise this is process and yoga is grounded in the deepest truths and seeks to provide scientific and universal practices whereby spirituality is made real and accessible.
I have done many things in my life. I have been a clothing designer and manufacturer, I have worked as a senior marketing executive in large corporations, I have run many of my own businesses, I have been a property developer and an author. I have been an environmental lobbyist, a political and business lobbyist, a mother, a wife, a sister and a daughter. Of all these things yoga is most like being a mother because it is through our own body hood that we teach, understand, create empathy, healing and growth and it is through love that we transform ourselves and others.

When asked to describe what I do I describe my present career as “The Three M’s”: Mother, Musician
and Massage Therapist. Since the age of 6 I have always known that music would be part of my life.
Officially my musical journey began at the age of 12 when I was stunned to find I was no longer a
member of my ballet class due to my parents being unable to afford tuition. My big sisters gave me
an old beat-up guitar for which I am eternally grateful; since it saved my sanity and gave me an outlet
for an ever growing creativity. At the end of that year I went back to ballet school to sing and play at
the end of year concert. In addition to guitar and singing, I delve into songwriting and instrumental
composing. I have studied voice, guitar, piano and now play the harp (self taught) which for me is the
most captivating of all instruments.
My passion in music is predominately of a spiritual nature driven by my own quest for spirituality and a 12 year stint as a church musician/singer. My passion for singing encompasses sharing it with others, not only in performance but in helping others to enjoy it – seeing othershave fun with music gives me such a “buzz”. I love most styles of music but am heavily influenced by Sacred music both ancient and contemporary,
Celtic and relaxation music (which I hear a lot of in massage clinics!).
Currently I sing or play harp at weddings and funerals hold a regular Sing-a-long here in Brisbane and can be seen playing my harp(Gabrielle) at various WWA events. Apart from music I do have some home life being homemaker and mother for one husband and 6 year old son. I am also a practicing Massage Therapist with around 10 years experience in Swedish and Aromatherapy massage. I also use Australian Bush Flower Essences and have just completed one subject in Chinese Accupressure Massage at the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences.
“Circle Songs” is my own brand of ‘Spiritual Songs Sing-a-Long’ where you will have the opportunity to sing some old and new songs that have an emphasis on women and/or spirituality. You don’t have to have a brilliant voice to participate; all levels are catered for. But be prepared to have fun, be moved (physically and spiritually) and bring your voice out of the closet!!
NineTrak: An Introduction to the Enneagram of Personality Types
The Enneagram provides a wealth of information about human personality, learning and growth and is a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and others. This presentation provides an overview of the Enneagram framework and introduces the chief features of each of its nine distinct and fundamentally different personality types.
Understanding the Enneagram can help you to uncover and understand more about your unconscious focus of attention – what is driving your patterns of behaviour and how it impacts on your daily life, including work and intimate relationships.

Hello my name is Debbie and I also carry with me my alto Ego Genah who emerges whenever the words Belly Dance are whispered. I will be your facilitator of Tribal Bellydance if you choose to attend my workshop.
I have been Bellydancing for nearly 11 years now and have been teaching for 5 years. How I got started in Bellydance was quite by accident with my children leading me into this secret world. I attended my first class with my children only to leave the class after the lesson with this burning sensation in my solar Plexus. Whalah my life from that point went in a totally different direction. This I can tell you about at the Gathering.
The last two years I have given workshops in classical Bellydance but this year I have decided to offer Tribal Style Bellydance. This is a fairly new Genre but a very powerful form of dance.
Tribal Style Bellydance works on the basis of cues and Transitions and is owned by the whole tribe with a tribal language of movement and cues. You will learn basic moves and cues that you will share with your tribe to create a piece of work that is owned by each individual of the tribe. You will also create a name for your tribe that will define the energy of the whole tribe. You will feel your energy emerge and your bond with the tribe strengthen through dance.
Looking forward to meeting you all, until then
Asalamu alaykum “Peace be upon you”
